Halloween is just around the corner, but there is still time to order some spooky postcards. You can purchase these in my shop and spread ghoulish cheer this month.
Here is a little sneak peek of what I have been working on for my shop. In addition to this color combo, I also did some in red and navy. I am excited to finally have something new! They should be ready son.
I mixed a bunch of ink yesterday. Getting ready to reprint my lace cards in time for the busy holiday season. Keep an eye out, they should be ready in a couple of weeks. Next weekend I'll visiting friends and their new baby boy!
Hello there, you probably thought I had fallen off the face of the earth, or moved to Siberia. But lo and behold, I am still here and I have been working on some new cards. 
After not doing any printing for almost a month, I got back to business and printed a friend's save the dates today. On yet another grey day with 10 to 15 inches of snow in the forecast (after all the snow had just about melted!) printing these bright and fun cards cheered me up. 
A new year means new resolutions. This year I have a few crafty resolutions:
I will bring a book and welcome any visitors who happen to be in the neighborhood. I am not making my husband sit with me all day, even though he is so great that if I asked he probably would. My not asking him to come is his birthday gift since the first day of the craft fair is on his birthday. Last year I was in Baltimore on his birthday, and this year I will be at a craft fair all day. Next year I will do better.
Last weekend I worked on my holiday cards (not the weekend that just slipped away with no real crafting, but the one before). I printed 2 out of 3, but had trouble with the third. It’s the bird card. I was planning on printing a pool blue background on a white card with the snowflakes being the white paper showing through. I know that the Gocco is not the best at printing large swaths of solid color, but I was looking forward to the distressed look.
I think I might expose another screen (yikes, not when they are such a precious commodity!), and use the metallic blue ink right out of the tube since it is a little more fluid, smoother and a cooler color. There is an upcoming holiday, which I might turn into a 4 day weekend since it falls on a Tuesday this year. So let’s hope I get back in gear then and can finish these up!
I am still hooked on the bird silhouette with a pattered background as you can see. I think this is my last variation of this card. This is the smaller A2 sized one out of the 3.
I loved these brocade/swirly designs and thought they would be good snowflake/holiday starbursts.
You can't go wrong with a pine tree and pinecones. This is the most Christmassy of the three but I think it is a different enough perspective that it doesn’t scream out Christmas tree. This is also the most “manly” of the three. I have had a couple of male customers on Etsy, but mostly women.
This is horrible. I went to Rugg Road Paper Company in Boston today and bought out almost all their bulbs and a bunch of ink. All I can do for now is stock up, and then hope for the best. There has been a public campaign to Save Gocco (where this great "save gocco" image comes from), and the discontinuation has been delayed, but now it seems more imminent. 
I finally finished printing my series of bird cards. I did three variations, chartreuse, papaya, and finally curry. This little bird is mum and will say whatever the sender would like him to say. I still have to round the corners, which is time consuming and has to be done in small batches to avoid carpel tunnel. I was lucky with my chrysanthemum cards; my mom really helped me out a few weeks ago when she punched out all 800 corners for me while watching the Olympics (thanks mom!).
I slept in a bit and then spent the morning reprinting my curry chrysanthemum cards. I decided to add pool and papaya to the mix too so I would have something new for my shop. Get ready corner punch, you have 200 chrysanthemum cards coming your way!
I found this amazing mini print set in Restless Things' shop. I love it because the prints have a sense of mystery and discovery about them. It's like you've leafed through an old book and found someone's notes or pressed flowers and you wonder about the person who put them there in addition to the item that had been secreted away. And, the colors are great. There are more great finds in Restless Things so check out her shop.
I was finally able to print my chartreuse bird cards. I was initially inspired to make these because I wanted to do something with a monochromatic pattern and then remembered a friends brocade wallpaper and started there. Since a lot of people wonder about my Gocco and the process (one friend thought my Gocco was a helpful little crafty bird, which is actually kind of fitting), I thought I would show some photos of the Gocco in action. 
Here are the final cards hanging to dry. Next time I print, I will show how I created the image in the screen since I forgot to take pictures of that this time around. I have really been digging the rounded corners lately. this is the first time I have rounded the corners on a folded card and my little hand punch is working overtime on these. I still have a lot to do but can only do a few at a time before it runs out of steam or I run out of steam.
